Ice Cream #30

Two days ago I took my mom to Baskin Robbins 31 flavors because treats are 31% off on the thirty-first of each month.* My mom usually buys 5 or 6 scoops to carry her through to the next month that ends with 31 days. That brings me to thinking about ice cream and life!

I remember making it homemade and how fun and how delicious it was.

I remember Hopscotch ice cream that came in a rectangular carton that unfolded and you sliced it like a loaf of bread.

And then there was ice milk. hahahahaha!

Growing up we were an ice cream family. I remember summer Sunday nights when we would stop at any number of ice cream places after church including Tastee-Freeze, 31 flavors, Farrells, Dairy Queen, Save On Drugs and Thriftys. We never had a vacation without a lot of ice cream. Our freezer was always full of popsicles, ice cream treats and we often flagged down the ice cream truck. I grew up believing, and having that belief reinforced and verified, that life is better with ice cream!

My favorite’s have changed over the years and I really don’t eat much dairy anymore but ice cream still makes me happy!
