There are some events and people who change the course of one’s life. You are one of those people in my life! This year I made a commitment to grow my gratitude quotient by writing a thank you note each week to someone. In light of your birthday, I thought I would send yours this week!

I was not planning to join Biola’s Symphonic Winds but you were persistent when you found out I played clarinet. I am more than grateful for that because being in band was the highlight of my college experience. I made friends with whom I have travelled through life and I met my husband, Jim Mohler, who I never would have met had it not been for the band.

I am grateful for the family atmosphere you created in band. I learned so much about worship and serving and teamwork. Thank you! Thank you too for the marriage you and Opal have modeled. Thank you for your prayers and love over the years.

When we got back to Biola for Jim to work for Biola/Talbot, Dr. Cook asked us both who were the most influential professors for each of us while we were undergrads and both of us, in unison, said your name first. We remain grateful for the impact and the input you have had in our lives and ministry.

May God continue to use you for His kingdom purposes and may you continue to sing His song in your heart.

I love you Ray!
