November Gratitude Stone 2 In Everything
1 Thess 5:18 Give thanks in everything!
This Ebenezer is not always practiced, but I am working on it. I often find myself ungrateful for some of the hassles and losses in my life. I don’t want to say thank you when I feel there is an injustice or when I suffer. And yet, I think Paul wants us to learn to be grateful in the middle of every day living. If we only give thanks “after” we get through something, then we are still the central focus of our own lives; it does not require much faith to trace the hand of God with the benefit of hindsight. However, it takes faith to accept one’s lot with gratitude in the midst of circumstances.
I thank you for your provision today in finding me a place to live and that I did not go hungry. I even had a choice in what I wear and eat. Further I have hot water and clean skin.
