Life as Thank you 17

Dear Dennie & Diana,

I decided to write an old school thank you note each week as an act of discipline. I am writing yours together because I cannot think of one of you without the other!

Diana,

Thank you for being a great role model for me of a pastor’s wife and mother. I admire you so much and I have learned so much about how to support and partner in ministry by watching you and Dennie ministering together! Thank you for your consistent words of encouragement and for being a good listener. I always feel heard and cared about. Thank you for talking things out with me and for your wisdom. I am grateful for your practice of sending cards; it means a lot and for many years I emulated that practice. I love your girls and the way that you have raised them. I am so blessed to have been a small part of each of their lives.

Dennie,

Thank you for being our pastor and for training, disciplining, shepherding, challenging, and inspiring my husband to devote His life to ministry. I will be forever in debt to you for loving my husband so well. Thank you for your hugs and your genuine and generous support of us (and now me) over the years. Thank you for believing in me, for complimenting me, for taking the extra effort to watch out for me as a widow.

I am so grateful for more than either of you will ever know. MAY GOD BLESS YOU BOTH AND MAY HIS LIFE CONTINUE TO SHINE THROUGH YOU BOTH ALL THE DAYS OF YOUR LIVES.

I love you both and thank God for you every day.
