Mother’s Day 2011
Yesterday I took a mini vacation with my friend Pam and we went down to Hollywood. We hiked to the Hollywood sign and ate ice cream at Didi Reise among other things. I didn’t realize how much I needed the break. I guess I am so busy working and parenting that I don’t think about having fun and making time for myself these days. (I know what you are thinking – don’t even think about scolding me!) I loved the diversion, the friendship, and opportunity to change my perspective. We continued the fun into the evening with pizza and games at the Lundes. Ahh. Lovely!
We were without power all of Sat. until Sunday at 10:45 (some of the neighbors were without all of Mother’s Day too). I can’t believe how much batteries have gone up! After church we had lunch with my mom and dad and then we went to watch the World of Color show with the Horton’s at California Adventure. It was a nice day, but the nicest part was that my kids remembered me and took care of getting cards and gifts without their dad, who always used to help them. YES!
