Living Life as a Thank you – 1
I thought would take this year and send a thank you note each week to someone who I needed to thank. It seems a bit cheesy because there is no way I can express my gratitude adequately but I will give it my best shot!
Tibby! Today is your birthday! And it seemed appropriate to let you know how grateful I am for you. I remember that first day we met when you and Brent first came into my office to interview me. I had no idea how amazing and special and fun our friendship would become, even to the point of becoming business partners for a season, but I am certainly glad and humbled that our lives intersected. I want to thank you for the example of generosity that you live out every day. I am also thankful for your support and encouragement over the years, such as becoming a parent and burying my husband. Thank you for trusting me with your kids. Thank you for your example of compassion and faith (Gal.5:6 is what you exemplify – “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.”) I am a more caring person by being near you. I cannot thank you enough for all the laughter and for being one of my biggest humor allies. Your merry heart does good like a medicine. I feel that our friendship is truly an example of the the verse in Proverbs (27:17) that says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”. I am grateful for the ways that you have, in the past, and continue to sharpen me, challenge me, educate me, and humor me. Thank you for being a winsome way of knowing the Savior.
May God bless you beyond your wildest dreams in 2016, (I say that optimistically of course! :)) Bwahahaha!
