To Die Knowing

Oddly enough one of our pastors wants to “die knowing”; in other words, he wants to be fully awake and conscious that he is dying. I have to think that is an interesting thing to think about. Who thinks of stuff like that?

Perhaps it is a better option than not planning for death at all but it is still a bit creepy. I am not sure that I have ever entertained the thought of actual process of dying and my own alertness to it. I am grateful that death is just a doorway to eternity and I imagine that it is beyond the scope of my imagination. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Life over death.
