It finally happened. I didn’t send out Christmas Cards. No Christmas tree & minimal decor. No planning or shopping. It took 43 years for my Christmas Spirit to finally take a holiday – maybe it will come back, maybe not.

It is not because I am in a funk and it was not a bad year. I got a new knee for a matched set. I survived a devastating car crash. I got to go to the All-Star Game. I finally took a trip (to Redding). My daughter ran a marathon. My son got engaged. My kids have amazing life partners. I made new friends. I still have a job. My dad made it home to heaven. Perhaps it is because I am here alone this year. I don’t think that’s it but it sounds reasonable.

I am not a Scrooge – but Bah Humbug to all the nonsense of the season.

I am not a Grinch – I wish you all hope and laughter and lots of chocolate.

I just decided to ignore it this year. So, A Very Merry Birthday to the Lord and Blessings to all.
