Clayton is 30!
How is it possible that my son is 30?! 30 is how many years I was married! The decades of life pass too quickly, don’t they?! I am not sad or nostalgic as I look back, nor do I wish for a flux capacitor-driven DeLorean to whisk me back in time to re-live my darling little boy’s fifth or eighth birthday and slip into my 25-years younger body? Ha – The only reason for a trip back in time is to see the father of this boy!
So, instead, I say happy 30th birthday to my grown son and I am praying for you as you start a new adventure that will never end! One day far into the future (but not really), you will be reflecting on how fast this time has gone and all the things you coulda-shoulda-woulda with your own kid (s). It is hard to believe three decades have passed since I first held you in my arms. Watching you grow into the incredible man you are today has been one of the greatest joys of my life. From the minute I became a mom I gained a purpose in life beyond anything I had ever imagined or known. For that, I am thankful.
At 30, you are in some of the best years of your life, blending the energy of youth with a new sense of wisdom. I hope you take a moment to look back at how much you have already accomplished. You have navigated challenges, made good choices, begun building a legacy of kindness and integrity, and brought so much laughter and gentle strength to everyone around you.
My prayer for you is that you continue to live your best life, putting Jesus and your family first, I hope you keep doing the things that make your soul sing while bringing delight to the heart of your heavenly Father. No matter what, I am always in your corner, cheering you on. I am so proud of you! Celebrate every birthday with gratitude. Laugh often. And always remember that I love you forever!
