April 11, 2015 is the day that my daughter married. Since that day they have had ups and downs and, in my opinion, more downs than are reasonable. They have persevered in all that bad “weather”. They love each other more now than they did when they began.
I made Connor promise to never give Em a credit card and to make sure she finished school. He is a good promise keeper. Not only did he promised to love my daughter and he does, but they still don’t have credit debt and Em is finishing college next month.
We raised our girl to try her best and never give up. We showed her to look for silver linings and beauty in each day. We taught her that God is love and nothing can ever take that away from her. We modeled life in a healthy home and marriage that put Jesus first. We prayed that she would experience the refreshing and deep water from the well of friendship.
And over the last 10 years I have had the privilege of watching how well she has learned those lessons by how she has lived her life. creatively and with a life partner who was raised by godly parents with similar lessons and life values.
Ten years ago Connor and Emily said they would and they are looking forward and living out their promises every day! I am so proud and blessed!
