Life as thank You 28
Dear Mike (and Sheri),
There are many reasons to say thank you to you (and Sheri). This year I am trying to express my gratitude with an old school thank you note each week, letting people know how much I appreciate them.
I am so grateful for your family. The time that we spent in ministry together represent some of my favorite memories. Your family disciplines, from reading to devotions to exercising did not go unnoticed and we are one family who adopted some of the practices you modeled. Thank you for living in a fishbowl with integrity and grace.
Thank you for consistently demonstrating a life of godly character with meaning and purpose. You push me to serve and give my life away and you model generosity. Thank you for expanding my worldview and for creating environments that encourage growth and challenge complacency.
Thank you for the job and doctoral referrals and prayers and notes over the years. The church family in IL (at CCLF)has been the best example of the Acts 2 church for us during the illness and homegoing of Jim, and that was after we had been away from Illinois for a few years! I cannot begin to tell you how much that has meant to me.
Thank you for sermons based on God’s Word that are well prepared and intelligent. I still listen to the podcasts regularly. They are one evidence that you are a continual learner. You continue to preach in a compelling and challenging fashion.
May you have strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow. Blessings to Sheri, Austin, Ben and Jason!
Pressing On ….
